Oh Boy..!
The other day while overhearing the conversation my kids where having I was in for a bit of a surprise:
Erick=Older brother
Rian=Younger brother
Erin to Rian (with an elderly tone): Rian, you don't understand the meaning of NO.
Rian in a defensive, squeaky voice: Yes I do, it means yes for Rian!!
Just thought it was funny!! I think I need to start adopting Rian's philosophy, I'm sure it'll take me places.

Halloween--and ancient ancestry
Halloween and ancient ancestry has its place and time, it holds its place during the American tradition of Halloween. This is the grandiose moment in which Eman can dig into his deep grounded Asian heritage and share it with his sons. Enjoy this wonderful moment with us.. (PS: if anyone is interested in helping photoshop these pics to give a more authentic feel...let me know)

Cute Kidz
Children have their own way of interpreting the world around them and their reasoning for how it all works is really quiet interesting, so the other day I decided to ask my six year old some questions:
Mommy: 'Why is the sky blue?'
E: 'If the sky wasn't' blue we wouldn't be able to see the clouds.'
Mommy: 'Why is the sun yellow?'
E: 'If it wasn't yellow it wouldn't be bright, it is bright so that we can be happy.'

To The 'Calm and Peaceful' One
One more day one more problem. They seem to mount as time goes on, maybe it is because we had it so good or maybe it's bad luck pursuing us to ruin any good that there is left. Maybe it's the grim reaper waiting in the corner preparing us for what we can't escape. They say it's when we are at our bleakest moment that we will finely see the light, that we will see the light shine at it's brightest. We've been waiting for that light for so long and just when I think we're prepared for that light we plunge deeper into the dark abyss of life.
I can't image what you are going through all I can do is sympathize, I reach out to hold your hand... but it's not there... I move closer and want to hold you ... the distance separates us. All I can do is cry and pray that that pain will not take hold of you and bring you down. That you will find the courage and strength that I know is in you to be the happy, despite what life has thrown your way.
They say that out of the ashes of life spring the most beautiful flowers... You have always been beautiful to me and to top it off, you have all those qualities that count most in this life: The smile that shines like the sun and melts even the stone cold , the heart that loves even when you hurt, and the courage to face life with grace and understanding even when all odds point against you. I guess God blessed you with this because He knew that you had a special place to fill in this world. That you needed all these qualities to overcome and become what He has meant for you to be.
I want you to know that you are not alone, and that we are standing right by your side. We may not understand you completely, but each one of us understands at least one side of you. Maybe that is why you where born to such a big family. Who knows... All that to say: I Love YOU and keep being the cheerful person He has made you !!
(PS. If you don't know what this is about, don't ask questions.. just take it for what it's worth.. I guess)

Quirky Musings
I've been having this sudden urge to write... about what I don't really know, but obviously there is something within me that is trying so hard to get out, so here we begin... let's see where it takes us?!
I've been contemplating on a lot of things lately, nothing in specific just thinking in my wondering sort of way with no beginning and definitely no end. It's funny how a person's mind can do that, it's like our brain is a little universe and we are God. I've always wondered how God could be everywhere at the same time. and viola-- it hit me, here I am thinking of a billion things at once yet it was all done in one tiny microscopical spot, in my puny brain. God and the universe are like my thoughts-- endless, with no beginning and no end. But unlike my insignificant brain with it's insufficient power God is in control, has purpose and meaning.
Yes I agree, it's a weird analogy, but it makes perfect sense to me.
Now the mind sure is powerful, if I could only order my mind to accomplish mundane tasks in the speed in which I think them up. Ahhh, now that would definitely make life easier.. and give me ample time for my 'profound' musings. I guess God knew better then allow me to do that or maybe He'll enlighten me with the knowledge on the mechanisms of the brain and thus bestow upon me the gift of accomplishing different tasks all at the same time using solely the power of the mind/brain. Who knows time will tell...

Why the Paranoia??
It's funny how what you are raised with can still effect you in your adulthood. It's funny how even when all the proof points in one direction, people still prefer to believe in the lie. If presented with a different opinion or facts, they will automatically look down on it and drag others with them in their blissful ignorance. Preferring to go my some appointed guru, so-called specialist, PhD, or religious leader.
The fact is this, no one knows everything about anything, and for your own sake it's best to make decisions based on objective facts. It is easy to be lulled by the persistent peer pressure of what surrounds you, but is it really the right thing to do? Is it really safe for you/your family? Just mechanically following the flow of any given situation does not make it correct.
Just because you grew up with a certain mentality does not make it right.. the key is be able to take a step back and look at things from a different perspective, we are conditioned on how we see things so ask yourself questions and challenge yourself. After all, the truth will set you free!
